We are developing a new gene therapy to help our canine companions stay stronger, move more comfortably, and enjoy healthier lives as they age. By supporting muscle growth, easing pain, and calming inflammation linked to arthritis, our follistatin therapy aims to improve everyday mobility and overall wellbeing.

Summary

Dog Years DAO is creating a breakthrough therapy to help dogs and people live longer, healthier lives by reducing muscle loss, pain, and inflammation caused by aging and arthritis.

Problem

This project tackles muscle loss from aging and pain caused by arthritis in dogs, aiming to improve their mobility, comfort, and quality of life as they grow older.

Impact

Unlocking healthier, longer lives for dogs and humans, this project pioneers DeSci drug development—combining biotech, crypto, and on-chain data to advance therapies that fight aging, pain, and inflammation.

The project leverages proprietary data to develop and secure patents, creating valuable intellectual property assets. These patents, along with the underlying data, are then licensed to third parties, generating revenue streams from organizations seeking access to innovative technologies and datasets.

A portion of the proceeds from licensing activities is used to buy back and burn project tokens, reducing token supply and potentially increasing their value. This model aligns the interests of token holders with the project’s commercial success, creating a sustainable cycle of value creation and distribution.

Tristan Roberts

A notable biohacker and DeSci evangelist, his work on a HIV gene therapy was covered in Netflix's Unnatural Selection. He co-founded the gene therapy company Minicircle, overseeing their clinical trial in Prospera, after working in the DAO/LLC space.

Emmanuel Harel Bijaoui

Emmanuel Bijaoui is the founder and CEO of Treat, a decentralized contract research organization (CRO) revolutionizing clinical trials in pet health. He previously worked as a dementia researcher and led bioinformatics at a human microbiome startup.

Brandy Nunez

A veterinary practicioner and analog astronaut, Brandy practices outside of LA. She is excited to see if this treatment can help the older dogs she sees, and if the first treatment might help astronauts as well.
